> streetcats.xyz is where Streetcat publishes its releases. Streetcat (streetcat.com, also streetcat.org) is a nonprofit association in Spain that looks after street cats: it feeds colonies every day, pays for veterinary care and sterilizes them (TNR). The "Releases" item in the streetcat.com menu links here. Today there is one release: Nonfungible Cats.

## Nonfungible Cats in figures

- On the page each cat carries a status tag, in the colour code of StreetCats 999: UNSOLVED (blue, pulsing) means the puzzle is still open; PENDING (orange) means it has been solved and the winner has 21 hours to claim the cat; SOLVED (green) means solved and claimed. When the winner agrees, the page credits them as "by @handle", linked to their X profile.

## About the challenge
Each drawing portrays a real cat, and each conceals a little mystery within its pixels, waiting to be unravelled. Hints will be graciously offered for puzzles that remain unsolved. Best of luck, distinguished puzzlers & fellow token burners!

## The prize
The first solver shall be granted the honour and privilege of donating 210,000 sats towards the care of these charming little predators. In return, they will receive the cat's NFT, its real photograph, and receipts documenting how their contribution was spent. The fortunate solver will have 21 hours to claim their cat.

## About the work
Beneath each drawing hides a puzzle that combines steganography, cryptography and other encoding and obfuscation techniques, layered with signals, code and logic. Some secrets are invisible to the eye and can only be uncovered with the right tools. Each cat is a different lock.
Work with the original file, byte for byte. Screenshots and chat apps recompress the picture and destroy what is hidden in it.
The cats live on Nonfungible.cash (https://nonfungible.cash), an experimental platform where the NFT is the image itself. Instead of an entry on a public blockchain pointing to a file stored somewhere else, ownership travels inside the file: a cryptographic credential tucked into the image's metadata. The picture looks exactly the same. Whoever holds the file and redeems it first owns the NFT, so it can be handed over on a USB stick, by email or with a link. The mint, built on Cashu ecash, only makes sure the same NFT is never spent twice: it never learns which picture moved, or who gave it to whom. Minting and sending are free.
